• Ms. Kristina Jimenez BSN, RN, NVRN

Welcome to a new school year!

My name is Kristina Jimenez, I will be your new school nurse at Memorial School starting this fall. I am
excited and humbled to be a part of this family. I have been a nurse for 4 years and have experience in acute
care that specializes in neurology as well as currently working part-time in the operating room at St. Joseph’s
University Medical Center. During this pandemic, I have worked on COVID-19 units and am very
familiarized with its pathology and management. I began my career in school nursing last year and am
currently pursuing my Masters in School Nursing Education. My transition to the school setting has been
one I have come to love and am grateful for, as I am able to help our youth physically and emotionally as
    needed.

I understand that due to the circumstances of COVID-19, many of you have many unanswered questions
about how this upcoming school year is going to look from a healthcare standpoint. I would like to assure
you that the health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. The health office at Memorial
School in coordination with administration has been working diligently to provide the most appropriate
response to this pandemic. We will be monitoring our students and staff daily and work with our local health
officials to keep our school safe. We encourage parents and students to continue following the Centers for
Disease and Control Prevention promoted safeguards, such as washing hands with soap for at least 20
seconds, social distancing, wearing masks, and staying home, if ill, among other suggestions.

If at any time you feel that you or your child may have COVID-19 symptoms, please contact your primary
healthcare professional and refrain from bringing your child to school. Compliance and accountability from
our community, students, and staff will be an important factor in being able to provide the best outcomes for
the safety of our school. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach me at 201-440-3177.
